Srinagar International Airport is buzzing with activity, recording a significant uptick in flight operations and passenger traffic. On May 15, the airport managed 44 flights—22 arrivals and 22 departures—serving approximately 6,844 passengers, including 641 Hajj pilgrims.

The momentum continued on Friday, with 40 flights—20 arrivals and 20 departures—handling around 5,720 passengers. This resurgence follows a week of reduced operations and cancellations due to India-Pakistan tensions, signaling a gradual return to normalcy.

A local traveler expressed enthusiasm, stating, “It feels good to see the airport picking up pace again. Travel has become easier, encouraging more people to visit Kashmir.” The increased activity reflects growing confidence in the region’s connectivity and tourism potential.

Srinagar Airport’s robust performance underscores its critical role as a gateway to Kashmir, supporting both pilgrimage and leisure travel. With operations stabilizing, the airport is poised to boost the local economy and enhance accessibility for visitors.
